About The Maker

William Connor Atchison is a native of Washington, IL, where he was active in the art program, production of plays/musicals, scholastic bowl, and other tomfoolery. He began woodworking as a newt, learning the basics of the craft as his father made him one-off toys.

His freshman year of high school, he began designing and selling custom furniture and repairing old shop machinery. He studied for 3 semesters, majoring in Industrial Design at the University of Cincinnati before pursuing woodworking as a career. He’s worked in a variety of custom shops and performed side work, including custom built-ins and shelving. Upon request, he has built and shipped furniture to clients across the country.

William has won a variety of awards for pieces of furniture and sculpture, including a Scholastic Art and Writing National Gold Medal for “Ebonized Oak Daybed” and a National Silver Medal w/ Distinction for his portfolio “Furniture Designs to Advance Sustainability and Combat Consumerism”.

Passionate about quality and longevity, William strives to make pieces with not only beauty and functionality, but also with repairability inherent to the design. By using local materials, tried-and-true joinery methods, and repairable finishes, each piece has the chance to become an heirloom, growing more lustrous with time.
